Heading to the Royal college of Surgeons

Mr Stuart Matthews will be attending the Royal College of Surgeons in London on 30.3.15 representing Trauma & Orthopaedics on the ATLS steering group that directs,advises and quality controls the Advanced Trauma Life Support program for the UK. The ATLS programme consists of a three day course and exam that deals with the emergent treatment of the severely injured patient that originated from the American College of Surgeons. The group contributes to the core content of the ATLS manual as well as exchanges ideas and innovations with ATLS programmes in the US and Europe.

An Honorary post!

Our director, Mr Stuart Matthews has been appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer to the University of Leeds in the School of Medicine for the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine!

Mr Matthews will be sharing his wealth of knowledge & experience with those coming up through the ranks, ensuring that his expertise is passed on to the next generation of medics.

We are very excited to announce that Mr Stuart Matthews, Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon took up his new post at Leeds General Infirmary last week. He is enjoying a significantly shorter commute to work, spending a lot more time with his family & making the most of the beautiful Yorkshire views.

Mr McFadyen is an Orthopaedic Trauma Consultant in the Major Trauma Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, and has been at the forefront of developing initiatives to produce evidence-based guidance for the treatment of fractures.
