100 Years of Insulin Use

It has been 100 years since Leonard Thompson, a 14-year-old boy dying from type 1 diabetes, became the first person to receive an injection of insulin.

Insulin has revolutionised the lives of individuals living with diabetes, and a diagnosis no longer means a death sentence. There is still no cure for diabetes, but hopefully the story will progress to this point within the next 100 years.
